Late Night With Roy Williams

Chapel Hill, NC – Late Night with Roy gave fans a sneak peek of what to expect this upcoming season for the University of North Carolina Tar Heels. Led by head coach Roy Williams, the Tar Heels come in to this season with ten returning players including Joel Berry, Justin Jackson, Theo Pinson, Isaiah Hicks, and Kennedy Meeks to name a few. Most fans want to know what the high-powered Carolina offense will look like without Brice Johnson and Marcus Paige, which is certainly hard to identify with an event that’s more of a fun, entertaining and less competitive environment. With the additions of 5-star big man Tony Bradley, high flying guard Seventh Woods, Brandon Robinson and Shea Rush, UNC looks very impressive for the upcoming season.

During the Blue and White scrimmage Justin Jackson lead the white team with 13 points and five rebounds, Nate Britt followed up with nine points connecting on two 3-pointers. As for the blue team their leading scorer was Isaiah Hicks who had an impressive 12 points (5-for-5 from the field). Hicks’ mid-range jumper was unstoppable. Joel Berry added nine points, all 3-pointers, as he was on fire from deep. The freshmen did not contribute as much during the scrimmage, but you could definitely see flashes of potential in Tony Bradley being a solid rebounder and being a presence around the rim. Look for the young guns to slowly work their way in to producing wins for coach Williams.

North Carolina will begin the season with an Exhibition game versus UNC-Pembroke on Friday, November 4th at 7:30 pm.
