Please join the NC NAACP and a growing number of dedicated social justice partners at the People’s Open House on Jones Street. Governor McCrory has called a special session of the General Assembly, under what appears to be a guise of discussing help for victims of Hurricane Matthew in Eastern NC and victims of the great fires in Western NC.
The NC NAACP will be present at that meeting to ensure that, through a backdoor unconstitutional trick, the General Assembly does not take it upon themselves to add two additional judges to the NC Supreme Court, thus negating the election of Judge Mike Morgan, who won by one of the widest margins in the election–nearly 350,000 votes!
We urge you to do these four things:
