Black-Owned Handbag Company Kicks Off HBCU Tour To Promote HBCU Themed Custom Purses


Baltimore, MD — Custom handbag company, Purse Paparazzi, launched a custom HBCU collection offering black Sorority members and HBCU graduates a sophisticated alternative to showcase their college spirit. HBCU graduate-husband and wife team will be showcasing their NEW HBCU clutch purse collection during a 6-city HBCU Homecoming tour beginning October 7th, 2017 at North Carolina A&T University.

The Purse Paparazzi offers an assortment of unique, stylish and edgy clutches encouraging women to carry what they care about! The company is mostly known for its creative purses catering to the historical Divine Nine Sororities including Alpha Kappa Alpha, Delta Sigma Theta, Zeta Phi Beta and Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority Incorporated. The custom clutches are primarily sold on the company’s website and at various sorority and HBCU events.

The new HBCU Clutch Collection captures the essence and pride of women who attend or graduated from Historically Black Colleges or Universities. Purse Paparazzi has recently been an approved licensed Vendor with some of the top HBCUs including North Carolina Central, Hampton and Virginia State University! In October, the Purse Paparazzi’s team of Clutch Consultants will go on a Homecoming Tour and showcase the new collection clutches as a Vendor! Additionally a portion of all HBCU clutch sales will be donated to a current a HBCU student in the form of a $500 scholarship for Spring 2018! The 6-City HBCU Homecoming Tour includes the following Black Colleges:

  • North Carolina A&T – October 7, 2017
  • Tennessee State University – October 14, 2017
  • Virginia State University – October 14, 2017
  • Hampton University – October 21, 2017
  • Howard University – October 21, 2017
  • North Carolina Central University – October 28, 2017

About the Purse Paparazzi:
Husband and wife team, Quinn Conyers and Isa Abdul-Raheem, owns purse Paparazzi. Quinn is a proud Howard University graduate and Isa is a proud Eagle alumnus from Coppin State University. The young married couple resides in Baltimore, Maryland and has two sons under the age of 2.

Phyllis Coley
Phyllis D. Coley is CEO/Publisher of Spectacular Magazine and Host of Spectacular Magazine Radio Show. With a B.A. in English from NCCU, the Durham native began her professional career as Promotions/Marketing Director for New York City’s WKTU-FM. While at the radio station, Coley discovered the rap group Kid ‘n Play and managed them for five years, guiding their music and movie careers to success. Moving back to Durham, Coley produced a nationally syndicated television show, The Electric Factory, while working as News Director for FOXY 107/104. In April 2002, recognizing a void in highlighting the achievements of African Americans, she started her own business publishing ACE Magazine. Coley launched Spectacular Magazine in November 2004. Recognizing the lack of pertinent and truthful information, Coley began Spectacular Magazine Radio Show in March 2009. Coley is the organizer of Durham's Annual MLK/Black History Month Parade and the Annual North Carolina Juneteenth Celebration. She currently serves on Central Children’s Home Board of Directors, Raleigh Chamber of Commerce’s Board of Advisors, as Immediate Past Secretary of the Durham Rotary Club Board of Directors and is one of the founding members of the Triangle United Way’s African American Leadership Initiative.
