Spectacular Magazine Young Professionals Meetup is for like minded professionals in your 20s & 30s who enjoy the company of one another and desire to foster professional alliances amongst each other.

If you are career-minded, confident, possess upstanding character with a strong will and vision, this meetup is for you! A gathering of Young Professionals from all over the Triangle area who come together in a social and informal setting to make new friends/contacts in the professional arena while enjoying good music, entertainment, door prizes & cash bar. Live performances by Allie Capo and Vinnie Dangerous.

Please bring plenty business cards and be prepared to talk about yourself and your business for 1-2 minutes. Two attendees will be selected to present themselves and/or their business from the stage.

Spectacular Magazine  is a news and information digital platform with investigative articles, features, sports, entertainment, lifestyles, columns, calendars and commentaries that empower, enlighten and entertain readers. Spectacular Magazine  discovers and reports what matters most to our readers.

Spectacular Magazine  was previously named Spectacular Entertainment Guide when it launched in November 2004.  In 2006, the name was changed to Spectacular Magazine  and the focus became issues that affect people of color.

  • Annual Spectacular Magazine Woman of the Year Awards Gala (October); and
  • Annual Spectacular Magazine Anniversary Party (December)

Phyllis Coley
Phyllis D. Coley is CEO/Publisher of Spectacular Magazine and Host of Spectacular Magazine Radio Show. With a B.A. in English from NCCU, the Durham native began her professional career as Promotions/Marketing Director for New York City’s WKTU-FM. While at the radio station, Coley discovered the rap group Kid ‘n Play and managed them for five years, guiding their music and movie careers to success. Moving back to Durham, Coley produced a nationally syndicated television show, The Electric Factory, while working as News Director for FOXY 107/104. In April 2002, recognizing a void in highlighting the achievements of African Americans, she started her own business publishing ACE Magazine. Coley launched Spectacular Magazine in November 2004. Recognizing the lack of pertinent and truthful information, Coley began Spectacular Magazine Radio Show in March 2009. Coley is the organizer of Durham's Annual MLK/Black History Month Parade and the Annual North Carolina Juneteenth Celebration. She currently serves on Central Children’s Home Board of Directors, Raleigh Chamber of Commerce’s Board of Advisors, as Immediate Past Secretary of the Durham Rotary Club Board of Directors and is one of the founding members of the Triangle United Way’s African American Leadership Initiative.
