The 15th Annual NC MLK Black History Month Parade & Step Show, a multi-cultural, wholesome family-oriented day of festivities, will take place on Saturday, February 4, 2017. National leadership of The Divine Nine, black Greek sororities and fraternities, will serve as Grand Marshals of the Parade. The theme is “Remaining Awake Through a Great Revolution” highlighting that although these 9 sororities and fraternities all differ in their founding principles in one way or another, they all come together as an unified body to create social change and leave the world a better place.
The Parade, recently named by the Southeast Tourism Society as “One of the 20 Best Events in the Southeast”, affords us an opportunity to reflect upon the past while seeking hope, determination and opportunity to act upon the promise of the future.
We would like to invite your school, business, organization and/or group come out to the Parade.
The Parade starts at 12 noon at W. G. Pearson Elementary School (3501 Fayetteville Street) proceeds up Fayetteville Street and ends at NCCU.
The NC MLK Black History Month Parade is a program of the Triangle Cultural Awareness Foundation, a project of Congressional District Programs, Inc – a registered 501(c) (3) public charity and is planned by Another Coley Event (ACE), an event planning firm located in Durham, NC. ACE specializes in the professional planning of festival, parades, conferences, and conventions.
