Kiley Brown Selected as Regional Principal of the Year
HILLSBOROUGH, NC – Efland-Cheeks Global Elementary Principal Kiley Brown has been named Regional Principal of the Year (north central region) by the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction Orange County Schools announces. Ms. Brown is the current Principal of the Year for Orange County Schools, and she now moves on to compete as one of eight finalists for North Carolina Principal of the Year.
“I’m so happy for our school and the community,” said Ms. Brown. “This award is about them and all of the hard work that they’ve done,” continued Ms. Brown. “It’s a privilege and honor to work here and to be a part of this amazing community,” added Ms. Brown.
Since arriving at Efland-Cheeks Global Elementary, Ms. Brown has lead the school through a time of transition and success. The school has enjoyed gains in student achievement and it has become a school that offers an inviting curriculum that appeals to many families from across the district. The global education component has been a popular draw for the families that have chosen to attend the school.
Ms. Brown holds a Master of Arts in Counseling from North Carolina Central University and a Bachelor of Science from University of North Carolina-Greensboro. She is a member of Martin Street Baptist Church in Raleigh.
Kiley Brown was named a semi-finalist for the title of Spectacular Magazine 2017 Woman of the Year – Education. She seeks to inspire children to collaborate, create, communicate, and be critical thinkers in her role as principal. She loves serving the students, parents, and staff at Efland-Cheeks Global Elementary.
“I’ve worked in numerous school districts, and Principal Kiley Brown is certainly in the group of the best of the best principals in our state,” offered Dr. Todd Wirt, Superintendent of Orange County Schools.
