Evolve Mentoring, Mt Vernon Baptist Church Launch Youth Financial Literacy Program

EVOLVE Mentoring and Mount Vernon Baptist Church are partnering to create a financial literacy program aimed at educating and exposing students to proper money management. The T.E.E.A.C.H™ (Through Education & Exposure Anything Can Happen): Money financial literacy program will utilize the Mount Vernon Baptist Church Credit Union, and N.C. Mutual Life Insurance Company (the program sponsor), to inform students on how money plays a role in all aspects of their life, and the importance of effective money management for personal success. The program participation fee is $25.

The T.E.E.A.C.H ™: Money program also includes a Youth Investment Club to teach participants how to build wealth.

Mount Vernon’s credit union is the only credit union in the United States currently owned by an African-American church.

T.E.E.A.C.H ™: Money Kick Off will be held on Sunday, March 26, at 12:30 p.m., at Mount Vernon Baptist Church, 1007 S. Roxboro St., Durham.   • Building a Baller Budget
  • Sow to Grow: Savings to Build Wealth

EVOLVE Mentoring, Inc., created by Tolulope Omokaiye, MBA, is a youth empowerment 501(c)3 nonprofit organization focused on holistically preparing students for independent adulthood through life skills training and mentorship. The goal of the organization is to assist in the evolution from youth to well-rounded adult by acting as a bridge to the real world.
