Kindred The Family Soul headlines AOC VIP Jazz Brunch

Born out of the desire to expand the audience for Jazz music, the 4th Annual Art of Cool Festival (AOCFEST) makes its return to Downtown Durham April 28-30, 2017. This grassroots festival celebrates the diversity of Black American music by presenting music that spans genres but all rooted in and inspired by the art of Jazz.
Attendees at the 2017 AOCFEST will be delighted by legendary artists such as festival headliners George Clinton, Rakim, and Common; as well as receive an introduction to incredible new stars both local and of international acclaim.

Meet Kindred The Family Soul
Kindred The Family Soul consists of husband and wife duo Aja Graydon and Fatin Dantzler. Working together since 1997 & married since 1998, the couple has developed an unmistakably strong creative chemistry. Their 2003 debut album Surrender to Love produced two top 10 hits “Far Away” and “Stars” earning both a Soul Train Award and a BET Award nomination. Kindred’s music has become the voice for families and couples, presenting a relatable and truly beautiful image of “Black Love”. In 2016 the couple released their 6th studio album titled Legacy of Love and as the title suggests their love is front and center. This duo is sure to deliver an electrifying performance which will be the perfect end to an unforgettable weekend!
