Serena Williams Says ‘I Do’
After winning the Australian Open while pregnant in January and giving birth to her first child in September, the tennis superstar has now married Reddit co-founder, Alexis Ohanian, at a star-studded wedding in New Orleans. The couple, who first met in Rome in 2015 and announced their engagement in December last year, tied the knot on Thursday (Nov. 16) in front of around 250 guests, including some big celebrity names like Beyonce, Jay Z, Kim Kardashian West and Eva Longoria. American Vogue editor, Dame Anna Wintour, was also in attendance — the magazine has an exclusive photo deal for the event so guests were not allowed to take in cell phones or cameras. Held at the Contemporary Arts Center in New Orleans, the wedding is reported to have been themed on Disney’s “Beauty and the Beast,” with guests walking in to the sound of one of the movie’s famous songs “Be Our Guest.”
Mariah Carey Set To Make Millions After Booking New Las Vegas Residency Deal
Mariah Carey is reported to have inked an eight-figure deal to move across the strip to a new residency at the Venetian Theatre at The Venetian Las Vegas hotel. The pop superstar is wrapping up her current residency at Caesars Palace and announced over the summer that her reality TV show, Mariah’s World, would not have a second season. The new deal begins in March 2018 and has her playing several stretches of shows throughout the year, with breaks in between the blocks of shows. The venue is smaller and more intimate than Mariah’s previous residency at Caesars Palace. Mariah’s manager has split after the singer’s erratic behavior became too difficult to manage. It’s unclear who will look after Carey once she returns to Las Vegas.
BET Sets ‘Black Card Revoked’ Game Show
BET has greenlit a new game show series, Black Card Revoked, to premiere in January. The show, based on the party game of the same name, will debut Jan. 10, according to network officials. Comedian Tony Rock will host the series, which will test players’ knowledge of the nuances of the African American perspective – from pop culture milestones and entertainment moments to historical facts and politics. The original creators of the popular party game, Latesha Williams and Jay Bobo, will serve as co-executive producers. Black Card Revoked follows on the heels of the September debut of BET’s game show series Face Value, hosted by Deon Cole.
Regina King Joins New Film Based On James Baldwin Novel
Emmy award winner Regina King is set to star in director Barry Jenkins’ latest film, If Beale Street Could Talk, based on the 1974 novel of the same name by James Baldwin. The story centers on a newly engaged Harlem woman who races against the clock to prove her lover’s innocence while pregnant with the couple’s first child. King will play opposite Stephan James and newcomer KiKi Layne in the film which is underway in New York, according to Deadline.

King is coming off a series run on John Ridley’s anthology, American Crime for ABC which garnered her three Emmy Award nominations and two wins.
Nicki Minaj, Jesse Williams Play Husband And Wife In H&M Holiday 2017′ Film
Many from the Pink Barbie brigade have wondered aloud why we have not seen Nicki Minaj — a seeming natural for the big and small screen — in more film roles before now. Well, Minaj’s fans’ thirsts are being quenched in the new H&M Holiday 2017 film and just in time for Christmas. The movie is a part of the retailer’s anticipated holiday campaign that Minaj and “Grey’s Anatomy” actor Jesse Williams have starring roles in. The plotline focuses on a little girl tracking down the evil brother of Santa Claus in order to save the holidays. Minaj, who teased her campaign with H&M last month, doubles as both the mom of the girl and a fairy named Wisest Thingy. Williams plays the father and the supernatural Fastest Fairy, while John Turturro stars as both Santa Claus and his evil brother. Helmed by Swedish director Johan Renck, the short film will go live on HM.com on Nov. 28.
Joseline Hernandez Drops Cardi B Diss Song
Joseline Hernandez has dropped a diss track aimed at Cardi B. The former reality star teased the track on her Instagram a couple of days ago and now, it’s officially arrived (Nov. 14th). The beef between Joseline and Cardi has been brewing for a minute. Back in August, Stevie J claimed that Joseline was jealous of Cardi after her appearance on Love & Hip Hop, where Joseline also was a featured cast member. He even went as far as to claim that she wouldn’t let him see their child because Cardi was so popular. As for the diss track, “Hate Me Now,” Joseline aims squarely at Cardi. “Drag a Bronx bitch, yeah I said it—what you gonna do?/Fabricated, illustrated, cartoon/Bloody my ass…you holler Blood—who the hell cosigned this hoe?” Joseline raps. Cardi, who graces the cover of the latest issue of New York Magazine, doesn’t seem to be overly concerned with Joseline’s diss attempt. Earlier on Nov. 15th, she posted a series of crying laughing emojis, writing,”I’m wild dead son,” presumably in response to the song.
Jennifer Hudson And David Otunga Break Up, Hudson Files Protective Order
Jennifer Hudson may not have her fairytale ending with David Otunga after all.
The couple have broken up and ended their relationship after 10 years, E! News confirms. “[They] have been in the process of ending their relationship for a number of months,” Jennifer’s rep tells E! News. “Today, Jennifer requested and received a protective order against her ex-fiancé. Jennifer’s actions are solely taken in the best interest of their son. Please respect her privacy at this time.”
David’s attorney would also release a separate statement to E! News. “David Otunga has been trying to negotiate the terms of an amicable parenting agreement with Ms. Hudson for several weeks now. However, when it became apparent to Ms. Hudson that Mr. Otunga would be the parent granted residential care of the child, as a result of Mr. Otunga being the child’s primary caregiver while Ms. Hudson pursues her career all over the world, Ms. Hudson decided to file a meritless Petition for Order of Protection in an effort to gain an unfair advantage in the custody dispute,” Tracy Rizzo explained. “As a result of Mr. Otunga’s career in the WWE, Ms. Hudson felt that she could give an award winning performance in court to portray herself as the victim. Mr. Otunga has never abused or harassed Ms. Hudson or their son, and it is unfortunate, especially in today’s climate, that she would feel the need to make these false allegations against him. Mr. Otunga looks forward to his day in court and in being awarded the residential care of the parties’ only child.”
