Ensuring the Legacy: Word of God Fellowship Church Announces Pastoral Installation
Raleigh, NC – Word of God Fellowship Church Ministries announces the Official Pastoral Installation of Pastor Mitchell Summerfield titled “Ensuring the Legacy.” Pastor Mitchell Summerfield is the new Senior Pastor and CEO of Word of God Fellowship Church, The Word of God Academy, and Word of God Daycare in Raleigh, NC.
The Pastoral Installation will take place as follows:

Pastor Mitchell Summerfield is the son of the late Bishop Frank and Lady JoeNell Summerfield.
Bishop Frank Summerfield and Pastor JoeNell Summerfield led Word of God Fellowship for almost 40 years, since its birthing in 1988. The ministry first started out of a store front next to a radio station off of Maywood Avenue in Raleigh, NC. As the ministry began to grow, God led Bishop Summerfield to acquire a new location downtown Raleigh on Davie Street.
It was in 1991 when Word of God Fellowship moved to 3000 Rock Quarry Rd and acquired 12 acres of land. Shortly after in 1993 Word of God Christian Academy & Daycare was established serving infants through the 12th grade. Hundreds of students have graduated from Word of God Christian Academy and has become a pillar in the community for Christian education.
As God continued to work through Bishop Frank & Pastor JoeNell Summerfield they acquired an additional 100+ acres, and as a part of the vision a community of single family homes were built on 51 of the land.
Pastor JoeNell Summerfield, ordained as Pastor in 1994, was Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Word of God Fellowship Church Ministries. She was also the co-founder of Word of God Christian Academy. Pastor JoeNell Summerfield and her husband later established the Word of God Christian Daycare center, where she served as CFO. She passed on September 9, 2017. In addition to running the ministry and business entities alongside her husband, Pastor JoeNell Summerfield has co-authored How to Make Your Marriage Produce Fruit, Why Relationships and Families Fail, and Singles, Prepare Before You Say I Do, among other best sellers.
In July of 2017, Bishop Frank Summerfield transitioned to be with the lord. Two months later in September, God called Pastor JoeNell home as well. Their second eldest son Mitchell assumed senior pastor September of 2017 shortly after his mother’s death.
Pastor Mitch, as he is affectionately called, has a Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communication from Shaw University and currently pursuing his Master in Divinity. He is very active with the Alumni Association and the community at large.
Pastor Mitch is a member of the Board of Directors for Winning Ways Community Development Corporation and has successfully merged his business acumen and ministry insight into closing real estate deals of over $1 million.
Pastor Mitch has a heart for people and seeing Christians develop and grow into their fullest potential. His passion for leadership, business, and entrepreneurship transcends into his ministry teachings.
