Durham Committee On The Affairs Of Black People Re-Elects Omar S. Beasley As Chair 

DURHAM, NC – The Durham Committee on the Affairs of Black People (DCABP) held its officers’ election on Thursday, December 6, 2018 at Fisher Memorial United Holy Church of America in Durham. The DCABP general body voted to re-elect Omar S. Beasley as Chairman for another two year term. Other officers elected, include:

Sharon Mullen, 2nd Vice Chair
Thelma White, 3rd Vice Chair
Angie Steele, Executive Secretary
Dr. Natasha Greene, Political Committee Chair
Angelique Stallings, Civic Committee Chair
Jeffrey Sullivan, Civic Committee Vice Chair
Tyronne Johnson, Treasurer
Kendra Pressley, Finance Committee Chair
Dr. Henry McKoy, Economic Development Committee Chair
 
Chairman Beasley would like to thank everyone for their participation in the election and their service to the organization, and looks forward to working with all community members that share in the mission and values set forth by the founding members of the Durham Committee on the Affairs of Black People.

The Durham Committee on the Affairs of Black People was established in 1935 as The Durham Committee on Negro Affairs. Its purpose is to serve as a public forum for discussion of community affairs, and, especially, the affairs of the Black community. The Durham Committee seeks to arrive at a consensus for the general improvement of African Americans and their communities.
