[VIDEO RECAP] Durham County Legislative Delegation Holds Swearing In Ceremony
Durham, NC – The Durham County Legislative Delegation held their Swearing In Ceremony on Sunday Jan. 6, 2019 at the Tower at Mutual Plaza (formerly the NC Mutual Life Insurance Company building). Anita Earls, Associate Justice, NC Supreme Court presided. Justice Earls also administered the Oath of Office to:
State Senator Floyd Bixler McKissick, Jr.
State Senator James Michael Woodard
State Representative Robert T. Reives, II
State Representative Maryann E. Black
State Representative Marcia H. Morey
State Representative-Elect Zack Anthony Forde Hawkins
The Honorable H. M. “Mickey’ Michaux, who is retiring after serving Durham for 44 years, thanked the Durham community and warned residents that, if not diligent, we could lose all the ground we have gained over the past 40 years. Offering remarks at the ceremony were Chair of the Durham County Board of Commissioners Wendy Jacobs and Durham Mayor Pro Tempore Jillian Johnson. Attended by over 200 people, there was a reception after the ceremony.
