Hillside High School Legacy Weekend To Celebrate Past, Present, Future Of Hillside Excellence

Durham, NC – Hillside Legacy Weekend will be a powerful weekend “Remembering the Past and Celebrating the Present and Future Generations of Hillside Excellence.”  On Friday February 15th, the Hillside Drama Department will kick off the weekend by honoring Mr. Andrè Leon Talley and other guest celebrities at the opening of “Hallelujah! Swing School” in honor of Mr. G’s (John Gattis) “Swing School.” 

legacyThe show will be followed by a Legacy Luncheon on Saturday February 16th, sponsored by the SS Renaissance Team, a dynamic group of Hillside Alumni supporting the Performing Arts Programs at Hillside High School. 

A resounding round-off to the weekend will take place on Sunday February 17th with the return of Hillside Alumnus and legend, Mr. Andrè Leon Talley and a screening of the acclaimed documentary The Gospel According to Andrè directed by Kate Novack.

Friday, February 15th

Pre-Show Reception at 6:00pm

Hallelujah! Swing School opening & special recognition at 7:15pm 

Saturday, February 16th

Hillside Legacy Luncheon at 11:30 am

Hallelujah! Swing School show at 3:15 pm, 7:15 pm

Sunday, February 17th

Hallelujah! Swing School show at 3:15 pm

Screening of the film “The Gospel According to Andrè” and Q&A with International Fashion Designer Andrè Leon Talley.   Doors open at 6:30 pm with the screening and Q&A 7:00 – 10:00 pm.
