[MotivateMondays] JaseLVO: Featured Artist Of The Week
JaseLVO (LVO = Lumbee’s Very Own) is a rapper based out of Raleigh, North Carolina and has been selected as the Spectacular Magazine Featured Artist of the Week for the week of March 19th. Spectacular Magazine (SM) caught up with JaseLVO (J) to learn more about him and his music.
SM: How did you get started?
J: It was something I came across during a dark part in my life. Writing about how I was feeling turned into writing rhymes about things I was going through. All in all, my love for music grows daily and has helped me become the man I am today.
SM: What is your genre/profession?
J: Hip hop is my genre but with my creativity, I can figure out a way to shake up any genre.
SM: Who are your musical or artistic influences?
J: There’s so many artist it’s tough to choose but my biggest influencers are J.Cole, Rhapsody, Drake, Erykah Badu, Tupac, and Logic.
SM: What is your motivation for your art?
J: My motivation is to give people an experience like no other. And be a platform to give a voice for the voiceless and to plant a seed that will inspire others to bring the world together so we can excel at life on this planet.
SM: In what ways has your music changed since you first got started?
J: I’ve been doing music for a year and the biggest change to me is my word play and confidence has improved, which shows in the studio. I feel you can hear the emotion in every word spoken better now.
SM: Are there any artists that you would like to collaborate with?
J: I would love to work with with J.Cole, DaBaby and Rhapsody because they put on for the Carolinas as well as some local artist because I want the world to know North Carolina sound is unmatched.
SM: Do you have any upcoming projects, shows, or appearances? What are your next steps?
J: I’m actually working on a solo album scheduled for the 13th of April titled “Adapt” and will consist of 10 songs. I will be performing March 15 at the artist bloc in Greensboro as well as March 18th at the Pour house in Raleigh. My next step is to push out more music and content consistently to create more buzz around me and my culture.
