Gallery: Charlotte Independence FC Holds off Memphis 901
Charlotte, N.C. – The Charlotte Independence FC defeated the Memphis 901 FC 1-0 last night at the Sportsplex at Matthews.
Forward Jorge Herrera scored the winning goal in the 74th minute, and goal keeper Brandon Miller had his second shutout of the season.
The Independence are 12th in the United Soccer League (USL) Eastern Conference standings and on a 4-match unbeaten streak. Their next match is on the road against their in-state rivals the North Carolina FC, who are fourth in the eastern conference, on Thursday, July 4 at WakeMed Soccer Park in Cary, N.C. at 7:30 p.m. EST.
