Shaw University To Host SBA Entrepreneurial Summit

Raleigh, NC – The North Carolina district office of the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) will hold an entrepreneurial summit for Shaw students and alumni on Thursday, September 12, 2019, on the campus of Shaw University in Raleigh, NC. 

The summit will include a discussion on programs and services offered by the SBA and its resource partners, such as business consulting, access to capital, mentoring services, and specialized training. Additionally, an entrepreneurial success panel will be held consisting of local SBA HUB Zone-certified firms.  The firms’ principals will share their personal stories as successful small business owners with Shaw students. 
 
Before and after the sessions, event participants will have the opportunity to network with resource partners and agency officials.  Participants also will be able to meet with the participating small business owners, who will be accepting resumes from students seeking employment with these firms as an entrée into the small business world

Guest speakers will include Mr. Ashley D. Bell, regional administrator, SBA Southeast Region, and Dr. Paulette Dillard, president of Shaw University.  The event is open to Shaw students and alumni, who are invited to register here. For more information about Shaw University, go to www.shawu.edu
