Plans For The Celebration Of The Life Of Phil Freelon Announced

Durham, NC – On July 9th, 2019, Philip Goodwin Freelon joined the Ancestors.

The Freelon Family welcomes you to join them for a memorial service honoring the renowned architect, photographer, fisherman, husband, and father of three. The service will be held on Saturday, September 28th from 3:30-5:00 pm at Durham County Human Services (414 East Main Street, Durham), a building that The Freelon Group designed.

Phil’s wife of 40 years, Nnenna Freelon, along with his 3 children, invite family, friends, colleagues, and community to join together and celebrate his life and legacy.

In lieu of flowers, Phil has asked that those who want to honor him become sustaining donors of NorthStar Church of the Arts so that the same creative and spiritual energies that nurtured him throughout his life may positively impact others. Click here for more information.
