[Video] Shaw University “Welcome Home” Features Full Schedule of Entertainment, Fellowship
Raleigh, NC – Shaw University’s Homecoming, October 12 – 20, 2019, will feature a full schedule of entertainment, networking, reunions, and plenty of opportunities for fun and celebration. Highlights of the week include a gospel concert featuring national recording artist, Charles Clark on Saturday, October 12th; the annual EPIC Gala featuring the Infinity Show Band on Friday, October 18th; and of course the Homecoming football game vs. Livingstone College on Saturday, October 19th. Students also will be celebrating Homecoming with their own private events during the week, including a talent show, a comedy show, and a midnight chicken & waffles breakfast.
Clark recognized his calling early in life and has served in ministry as praise and worship leader, director and songwriter. He is a classically trained musical artist who recently released his sophomore recording, “The Redemption Project,” which was recorded live and released in April 2019. He also has recorded with JJ Hairston, and shared the stage with many gospel greats, including Karen Clark-Sheard, Byron Cage, Vickie Winans, and John P. Kee, to name a few. Clark can be heard on background vocals for Dorinda Clark-Cole, James Fortune, Jessica Reedy, and Tasha Page Lockhart.
The Infinity Show Band is a power-packed band known for their showmanship, dynamic vocals, funky rhythm section and their ability to perform a variety of musical genres to create just the right ambiance for any event. From Motown, R&B, Disco, Blues, Reggae, Rock & Roll, Jazz, Latin, Zydeco, from “back in the day” to the latest hits, their superb musicianship has electrified audiences and made them one of the most sought-after bands in the region since 2005.
More highlights of Homecoming Week include the coronation of Miss and Mister Shaw University and the Royal Court on Sunday, October 13th; the Athletic Hall of Fame Banquet on Thursday, October 17th; the Founder’s Day Convocation, Shaw Family Reunion, and a Young Alumni After-Party on Friday, October 18th.
