Duke Down Another RB, Brown Out For The Season
DURHAM, N.C. – Duke redshirt junior running back Brittain Brown underwent surgery on Thursday to stabilize a left shoulder injury. He will miss the remainder of the 2019 season.
The surgical procedure was performed by Dr. Jonathan Riboh.
A native of Canton, Ga., Brown has played in 25 career games, rushing 222 times for 1,126 yards (5.07) and 10 touchdowns while catching 17 passes for 218 yards (12.82) and one score.
Duke will only be left with junior Deon Jackson, sophomore Jordan Waters (converted safety), and freshman Mataeo Durant as the only healthy running backs on the roster heading into this weekend.
The Blue Devils welcome Pittsburgh on Saturday for Durham Day as well as their ACC home opener. Kickoff is slated for 8 p.m., and the game will be broadcast live on the ACC Network.
