[GALLERY] Duke v High Point Women’s Basketball
Durham, N.C. – The Duke Blue Devils opened the season with a convincing 93-57 victory in Cameron Indoor Stadium on Tuesday night against High Point.
It was a big night for two Duke seniors. Guard Kyra Lambert returned back to the court in her first game action in the last 962 days (two years, seven months, 18 days) and forward Leaonna Odom scored her 1000th point.
Odom finished with a game-high 19 points. Haley Gorecki had 15 points and 7 rebounds. Duke had five players reach the double-digit scoring mark. Freshman Azana Baines led the Blue Devils in rebounds with eight. Fellow freshman Jada Claude had a career-high 6 offensive rebounds on the night.
The Lady Blue Devils outscored HPU 44-16 in points in the paint.
Duke (1-0) will hit the road to face Texas A&M in College Station, Texas on Sunday, November 10 at 4 pm.
