[Gallery] Jennifer Baker, Parris Harris Bring NC Fashion Week 2019 To Raleigh
Raleigh, NC – NC Fashion Week (NCFW) 2019, presented by Jennifer Baker and Parris Harris, took place Sunday, December 16 at the Hilton Garden Inn in Raleigh. In its 12th year, North Carolina’s premier fashion event featured a mixture of designers, boutiques, and national department stores such as White House Black Market, Chico’s, Stein Mart and many others. This was the first year that they have had an international designer, Zaftan, who designs kaftans for Generation X, Y, and Z!
While speaking with NCFW founder, Jennifer Baker she expressed how her favorite part of NC Fashion Week is being able to wardrobe style the models. Being able to go to the department stores and put some looks together gives her a high like it would any other shopaholic!! She owns Metro Faces International, a full-service Model and Talent Agency that has been training, developing and representing talent for over 45 years.
Parris Harris is a notorious Hollywood fashion coordinator and one of Los Angeles’ celebrity stylist/fashion designer. He has graced countless runways, music videos, movies, magazine covers, and celebrities in LA for over 10 years. His company, PARRIS AND HARRIS, recycles, recreates, and redirects a garment’s path.
Some of the other designers that were featured in the fashion show were PerSONALity, K. Redd, A Tutu 4 You, Uniquely U Bridal, Mark Taylor Designs, Rocey Reyes S & B Designs, and Bag’n Baggage out of Raleigh. Along with having their clothes in the fashion show, the designers could also be vendors and sell their items.
The styles of the various designers were very unique and a separate flair of their own. K-Redd’s designs were more of lounge apparel, things you would wear to work out in like t-shirts and leggings. PerSONALity definitely has personality in their designs. All of their garments had really detailed prints from all over the world. A Tutu 4 You showed us that there is a tutu for all occasions and Uniquely U Bridal showed off their beautiful beaded bridal gowns. Mark Taylor Designs exuded elegance and sophistication.
The models in the show were from all over and of all ages. It was clear that some models were not professionals and it might have been their first time on the runway, but they all did an admirable job. Each year, two models are chosen by co-producer Parris Harris to walk in the LA Fashion Week. Models also have the possibility of being represented by Metro Faces International.
NC Fashion Week is an annual event that draws designers, models and fashion connoisseurs from all over to come together and share their appreciation for something we all love… Fashion!! Make sure you don’t miss out next year!
