Cunane Gets Hot Late, Leads Wolfpack Past VT
RALEIGH, N.C. – North Carolina State would use a 17-4 run early in the third quarter to overcome a 33-28 halftime deficit to defeat Virginia Tech 76-69 Thursday night in Reynold’s Coliseum.
With the win, NC State improves to 13-0 with a 2-0 record in ACC conference play.
Sophomore forward Elissa Cunane had another monster performance for NC State, registering 28 points and nine rebounds. Junior forward Kayla Jones chipped in with 11 points and rebounds for her fourth double-double of the season.
Aisha Sheppard led the way for the Hokies with 28 points to tie Cunane for a game-high in scoring.
NC State will return home on Sunday, January 5 to host Virginia at noon.
