Annual Scholarship Gala Benefits Youth And Local Community
Raleigh, NC – The Raleigh Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated, is making plans for its annual signature event, the Crimson & Cream Scholarship Gala. The Gala is the organization’s primary fundraiser for scholarships supporting youth in Wake County.
Delta Sigma Theta was founded 107 years ago on January 13, 1913, by 22 collegiate women at Howard University promoting academic excellence and community service, and the Raleigh Alumnae Chapter was chartered 81 years ago (May 7, 1938).
The scholarship gala will take place at 7 pm Saturday, February 15, 2020, at the Sheraton Imperial Hotel, Research Triangle Park, 4700 Emperor Boulevard, Durham, NC 27703. The event is open to the public and tickets may be purchased on Eventbrite, Raleigh Alumnae DST Crimson-Cream Scholarship Gala Tickets; Sponsorships are still available, as well.
Proceeds from the Crimson & Cream Gala will be awarded to high school seniors from the chapter’s youth initiative programs who pursue college degrees, and to community grants.
“We are honored to present an event that not only provides a night of entertainment and fun but also allows guests to support a worthy purpose as the funds raised benefit youth who will one day run the world,” said Raleigh Alumnae Chapter President Angela Hatton. “Our guests can feel good knowing they are strengthening educational opportunities for deserving young people.”
The Raleigh Alumnae Chapter’s youth initiative programs focus on Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics (STEAM) related career fields with participants ranging from kindergarten to twelfth grades.
The evening promises a night of elegance, dinner and live entertainment as well as a large silent auction.
