Visionary Minds Public Relations’ Tammy Reese Is Still Involved With Her First Love

Who is Tammy Reese?
Award-winning Actress, Writer, and Journalist.
Besides the above, she is also a filmmaker, publicist, founder of Visionary Minds Public Relations & Media, and Co-Publisher/Editor of Central NY Woman Online Magazine.
The theater is Tammy’s first love. With her career beginning on stage, she adores everything about the theater: acting, writing, directing, choreography, set design, and more regarding stage life.
As a youth, Tammy joined the Media Unit TV and Stage Production company traveling and doing 60 live stage shows a year while hosting or directing a live tv show on the local public access network. Yes, you read that correctly…as a teenager, she was directing and hosting live tv.
Born and raised on the southside of Syracuse, NY, Tammy received skills, media recognition, and awards with The Media Unit, a Syracuse-based nonprofit teen performance and production group, including earning a college scholarship. She attended SUNY Empire State College, part of the State University of New York system, graduating with a degree in media studies and culture while minoring in theater.

Building on the passion from her early years with The Media Unit for spreading awareness of social issues, Tammy has produced, written, and directed numerous videos on issues such as bullying, racism, sexual assault, HIV/AIDS, suicide prevention, and domestic violence.
Recognized for her work, Tammy was a 2018 40 Under Forty Award Honoree, 2019 WCNY Makers Women Who Make America Award Honoree, and a 2019 40 Across 40 Award Honoree.
Tammy has a diverse range of skills that sets her apart from many. When asked if she had to pick one of her talents as her favorite, she picks journalism.
“The love I have for telling inspirational stories of others is what I always wanted to do either for a magazine, newspaper, TV, or web series. Interviewing celebrities, creative artists, community leaders, and business owners is so fulfilling to me,” Tammy Reese explains.
As an independent journalist with membership in the Syracuse Press Club and U.S. Press Club, Tammy has written for The Stand Newspaper, Rochester Woman Online Magazine, Backstage Magazine, and currently writes for Central NY Woman Online Magazine. She has hosted and/or co-produced numerous Visionary Minds TV & YouTube shows.

With her love for theater, having the opportunity to cover Tribeca Film Festival, HBO/Cinemax Urban Action Showcase Expo, NYC Hip Hop Film Festival, Harriet Tubman Freedom Music Festival, NJ Horror Con and Film Festival, NYC Horror Film Festival, and Syracuse International Film Festival has been some of the highlights of her career.
Also being a publicist has gotten Tammy tons of opportunities such as promoting events during the Toronto International Film Festival and Sundance Film Festival. Additional published writing work has been seen in the book “She Wouldn’t Let Me Fall” where she dedicated her chapter to her mother.
Her company, Visionary Minds Public Relations and Media, provides videography/photography services along with the promotion of events, creatives, business owners, and more.
