UNC Guard Jeremiah Francis Transfers to New Mexico
CHAPEL HILL – North Carolina transfer point guard Jeremiah Francis announced Friday evening that he will play for the New Mexico Lobos.
After missing his last two high school season with a knee injury, Francis played in 13 games, three starts, and averaged 3.8 points and 1.9 assists per game during his first year at Carolina. Francis provided key minutes for the Tar Heels when point guard Cole Anthony went down with a knee injury.
New Mexico finished fourth in the Mountain West (19-14, 7-11 MW) last season and lost 67-61 in the quarterfinals of the conference tournament to Boise State. Francis is the third transfer, second point guard, to commit to New Mexico this offseason.
