D-Nice Rocks “Club Quarantine” Mix In Hats By Designers Worth & Worth, Nick Fouquet
As one of the voices of conscious hip hop, D-Nice is greatly appreciated and respected throughout the hip hop genre and many in the music community. He took the Internet to another level recently as he displayed his DJing skills effortlessly on Instagram Live. He used his talents in music and decided to do a live DJ set on Instagram, titled “Club Quarantine.” News of the online musical party spread and at one point had over 100K followers on his live feed, DJing one day for nine hours straight. Many celebrities joined his celebration including The Rock, Halle Berry, and even former First Lady Michelle Obama.
The handsome and down to earth rapper wore signature fedora hats by Nick Fouquet and Worth and Worth, in dope colors, making his stage presence even more appealing, to all of us at home in casual sweat suits, joggers, and pajamas. D-Nice also wore statement sweatshirts and tees by Bel-Air Athletics, a fly clothing line by Will Smith.
D-Nice, born Derrick Jones on June 19, 1970, is a world-renown disc jockey, beatboxer, rapper, producer, and photographer who began his career in the mid-1980s with the hip hop group Boogie Down Productions. He discovered Kid Rock in 1988, landing him a deal with Jive Records. His legacy list also includes self-titled LP’s and lending to his voice to lyrics on the hit call-to action-on-violence-rap record “Self Destruction.”
D-Nice states on his Instagram page that “hats have always been part of my look since I returned to the scene as a DJ 15 years ago. As much as I would like to attribute it to my love of Run-DMC, it was really because I was nervous and if I was bombing during my set, all I had to do was tilt my head slightly and the brim would block my visibility, therefore, I wouldn’t be able to see that I wasn’t connecting with the crowd. Now, I wear them because of the look. All of my hats are custom made. Here’s the newest edition to my hat collection. Thank you @WorthandWorth.”
