Why run for office? Why this seat? Why ANJALI & why now?

Anjali Boyd is a Marine Scientist who has intensively studied these topics around water quality, natural resource management, and environmental conservation for the last 6 years. (submitted)

Anjali Boyd is running for office because she is the most qualified person to serve in this capacity. She is a marine scientist who has intensively studied topics around water quality, natural resource management, and environmental conservation for the last 6 years. Anjali has done so across the United States (e.g. NC, FL, CA, MD, and more) and internationally (Costa Rica, Cuba, Bahamas, etc.) She is currently studying these same issues as a Ph.D. student in the Nicholas School of the Environment at Duke University.

Why now? Mrs. Stella Adams was the first Black woman in the history of the state of North Carolina to hold this position. She began a legacy in doing so. This position has been held by Black Women ever since. For over 30 years, their efforts have inspired other women to run for, win, and serve other counties across North Carolina. Anjali would be honored to carry the mantle forward and build on those legacies during her service.
