Black-Owned Hersey Pharmacy Opens In Durham
Durham, NC – For many years, Dr. Keith Hersey, PharmD, and his wife, Deborah, dreamed about owning and operating their own pharmacy. This was always their long-term goal. However, whenever Keith and Deborah would discuss this plan, they would always get ‘cold feet’ and decide that now is just not the right time to pursue their dream. It was always easier and safer to just work for someone else.
So, for many years, they continued to put this plan off. Then one day in November 2018, Keith says God told him to step out on faith and put this plan into action. They decided to trust Him, and now Keith and Deborah are the proud owners of Hersey Pharmacy, located at 4711 Hope Valley Road in the Woodcroft Shopping Center. They opened their doors on January 6, 2020.
Hersey Pharmacy
Hersey Pharmacy is an independent pharmacy that offers low prices, friendly service, simple compounding, and FREE delivery. They are also in the process of establishing a free vitamin program for children, pregnant women, adults, and seniors.
“Our goal at Hersey Pharmacy is to treat our patients with the care, courtesy, and respect that they deserve,” Keith declares. “All too often, it is much easier to stay with what is familiar. As a result, many of us are reluctant or hesitant to try something new or different. However, Deborah and I are asking you to give us a chance to provide your medications. In many cases, you will pay the same or less for your medications than at the big chain pharmacies.”
Keith Hersey earned his Doctorate of Pharmacy degree from the University of North Carolina in 2004 and has been practicing pharmacy for more than 15 years with Eckerd Drugs, Rite-Aid, and Walgreens. He met his wife Deborah while they were both undergraduate students at UNC. They have been married for nearly 26 years and currently reside in Durham with their 13-year-old son, Jordan.
“We also have a sassy cat, Mimi, and a friendly and loyal dog, Karma,” Deborah says. “Our faith is also important to us as we are members of White Rock Baptist Church in Durham.”
“If you are looking to change to a pharmacy where you will be treated as a person instead of a number, Deborah and I would be proud and honored to serve you and your family! Give us a chance to provide you with the caring and quality service that you deserve,” states Dr. Keith Hersey, PharmD.
