[Trailers] “Welcome To The Blumhouse”: Four Unsettling Thrillers, Under One Roof
All this month, having started October 6, “Welcome to the Blumhouse”– an anthology of unique and unsettling thrillers – is airing exclusively on Amazon. Produced by the master of horror, Jason Blum, and directed by a group of emerging voices, these stand-alone dark thrillers introduce audiences to new worlds, diverse perspectives, and sinister plots.
Eight genre films, “Welcome to the Blumhouse” focuses on thrillers, suspense, and psychological dramas — genres beloved by audiences but rarely offered in theaters. The films explore relatable themes about cultural differences, societal pressures, and personal anxieties, and feature emerging stars alongside established actors in surprising new roles. While each film stands on its own, they all share a through-line of family and love as either a redemptive or a destructive force.
The first four films are being released in October for the holiday season. The other four will be released in 2021. “The Lie” and “Black Box” launched on October 6. “Evil Eye” and “Nocturne” will drop on October 13. Watch as the characters become entangled in their own web of lies, betray their loved ones, and escape from the evils that haunt them.
“Amazon and Blumhouse were aligned in wanting to make original stories from diverse perspectives,” says Blumhouse founder and CEO Jason Blum. “It’s been a priority for both companies to work with women and underrepresented filmmakers and give a platform to new voices. One of the ways we’ve been able to make great movies and TV shows is to tap into pools of talent that haven’t been drawn on over the years.”
The result is a series of unforgettable psychological thrillers that tap into our deepest fears and are guaranteed to keep audiences on the edge of their seats.
