Raleigh Deltas To Host Crimson & Cream Scholarship Gala: A Virtual Affair To Remember
RALEIGH – The Raleigh Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. will present its signature event with an exciting new look this year. The 2021 Crimson & Cream Scholarship Gala: A Virtual Affair to Remember takes place from 7 pm to 9 pm Saturday, February 20, 2021. This event will highlight the best of virtual entertainment, featuring an evening of music, performances, and a fundraiser for a worthy cause – scholarships.
In addition to entertainment on the night of the event, guests can visit the site now to bid on a wide selection of gifts, clothing, experiences such as travel, cleaning services, and photography sessions, and other items in the online auction. Also, the chapter is offering an opportunity to purchase food from one of the great restaurants owned by Empire Eats, with the chapter receiving a portion of the proceeds for scholarships.
“The effects of the pandemic and the economic fallout have been widespread and extremely difficult on us all, especially our students and their families,” said Chapter President Angela C. Hatton. Hatton pointed out that, according to studies by the University of Chicago and Columbia University, over 6 million Americans entered poverty in 2020. Now more than ever, our students need assistance to afford a college education, which is the focus of our Scholarship Gala and fundraising efforts.
The Gala is the Raleigh Alumnae Chapter’s primary fundraising event that provides scholarships to students in Raleigh/Wake County seeking various degrees, including STEAM. In addition, through our D.E.L.T.A. Carousel, Dr. Jeanne L. Noble Delta GEMS, and Delta Academy programs. Support from the community allows the chapter to offer leadership development programs to youth (girls and boys) in grades K-12.
“Our goal is to prepare the next generation of leaders with the support and confidence needed to succeed despite life’s challenges,” said Hatton. Youth activities include community service projects, financial planning, career exploration, tutoring, and cultural awareness, which has continued enthusiastically, even in this virtual atmosphere.
In addition, funds from this event help the community, which proved critical this past year, as the chapter was able to support two organizations that provided food to those impacted by the pandemic.
The success of the Gala will be credited largely to our sponsors, who lend their names and financial support. To sponsor, participate in the online auction, or for more information, visit www.raleighdst.org/gala.

Today, I went to the beachfront with my children. I found a sea shell and gave it to my 4 year old daughter and said “You can hear the ocean if you put this to your ear.” She put the shell to her ear and screamed. There was a hermit crab inside and it pinched her ear. She never wants to go back! LoL I know this is totally off topic but I had to tell someone!
some times its a pain in the ass to read what people wrote but this web site is real user pleasant! .
