Your favorite bad girls are back with a new series called Baddies ATL. During the Baddies ATL national press conference, Executive Producers Natalie Nunn and Tanisha Thomas teamed up with Zeus Network founder and CEO Lemuel Plummer to talk about the show that premieres  Sunday, May 16th at 6 pm EST on Zeus. “I am really excited about this project. We’ve been working really hard on Baddies ATL. We’re happy to have Natalie and Tanisha for not just being stars on the show but being executive producers,” said Plummer. The cast also includes former Bad Girl Club‘s Mehgan James, Judi Jai, Sarah Oliver, Janelle Shanks, Christina Rome, and Seven Craft. The show will also feature Sidney Starr who was not on Bad Girls Club but has relationships with the ladies.

Natalie originally came up with the project and talked to Lemuel and his team about this concept. “She was very passionate. We worked with her on another project called The Conversation where Ray J and Princess are executive producers,” said Plummer.

During that time, they talked about doing something different from Bad Girls Club“Having similar components to it, that the audience is familiar with. The show is very authentic. It’s very raw; it’s uncensored, it’s real, ” said Plummer.

Zeus Network was founded by Lemuel Plummer, and co-founded by social media superstars and partners King Bach, Amanda Cerny, and DeStorm Power and is the first subscription on-demand streaming service created by millennials for millennials. Launched in July 2018, the network features exclusive, original scripted, and unscripted comedy and drama series, and other premium content. Although a  relatively new network, Plummer was emphatic that they do not compromise. “We don’t water down content necessarily for advertisers,” said Plummer.

It’s been about a decade since some of the girls have shown their faces on TV. “We are all super excited to be back, and we want to thank Zeus for giving us this opportunity. Zeus really shows our fans where we are now. I just want to make it clear that it’s familiar faces and fan favorites, but we are in Atlanta somewhere we have really never been, and we’re working really hard to be businesswomen and do our thing and really put our best out,” said Nunn.

“I did Bad Girls over a decade ago. It’s crazy because I’ve been approached on numerous occasions to do other projects with the Bad Girls Club,” said Thomas.

You may know Tanisha from her classic meltdown on Bad girls Club when she went through the house beating on the bottom of a pot proclaiming, “I didn’t get no sleep cause of y’all, y’all not going to get no sleep cause of me.”

According to Tanisha, the artist Blueface started the whole bad girl rumble. “Blueface came out with his own version of the Bad Girls Club, and I just knew, knowing Natalie Nunn, I was waiting for her…I was like, hold on, my back hurt, my knee hurts. I thought it was crazy that they wanted to film (because of Covid) being that it’s my first time talking to Zeus they made me an offer I couldn’t refuse,” said Thomas.

Since it’s been about a decade, you will see some personal growth within the girls. Some of them are mothers now, and you will get to see that softer side of them.

“I never cried on TV ever in my life,” said Nunn.

“I was surprised that I got emotional,” Thomas added.

Sidney Starr

While everyone is excited about Baddies ATL, their fellow cast member Sidney Starr is getting backlash on social media. Sidney Starr is a transgender rapper who was on season 9 of  Love and Hip Hop. People are not thrilled that she is on the show because she isn’t the original ‘Bad Girl.’ They also seem to think that because she’s transgender, she doesn’t fit with the other girls. Reading through the comments online, you will see people calling her weak and that she doesn’t deserve that Bad Girl’s Club title.

“I am super excited to have Sydney Starr here. I thought she would be great for this franchise,” said Nunn. “I thought ‘wouldn’t it be great to throw a little spice in there.’ We are going to welcome her with open arms.”

According to Natalie, “Tanisha may have a different opinion about Sydney because she kept going after Tanisha while filming. I don’t know about you guys, but I think she deserves to be in the house if she has the guts to continue coming after Tanisha.”

The season premiere of Baddies ATL is Sunday, May 16th at 6 pm EST exclusively on Zeus
