LGBTQ Pride Month: C3 To Host ‘2021 Keeping The Pride Weekend’ In Raleigh
RALEIGH, NC – Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, and Queer (LGBTQ) Pride Month is currently celebrated each year in the month of June to honor the 1969 Stonewall Uprising in Manhattan, a tipping point for the Gay Liberation Movement in the United States. The last Sunday in June was initially celebrated as “Gay Pride Day.” In Raleigh, the last weekend in June, Friday, June 25 through Sunday, June 27, C3 is celebrating LGBTQ Pride Month by hosting 2021 Keeping The Pride Weekend at their complex, C3 at The Venue, located at 5299 Capital Blvd., Suite 5291.
Keeping The Pride was established by Johnny Sparks, Special Events Manager at C3 at The Venue, after noticing that Raleigh had to cancel Pride Week in the previous years due to the COVID-19 pandemic. “As a community-minded business C3 wanted to offer the LGBTQ+ and other diverse communities a way to show their Pride and celebrate,” says Sparks.
The Keeping The Pride events will kick off on Friday, June 25 night from 9:00 pm until 1:00 am with a Welcome Party and Amateur Drag Show that will include music provided by a DJ and a full bar. The Day of Pride Festival will take place on Saturday from 11:00 am – 4:30 pm. This free event will include vendors, exhibitors, and food. Saturday night wraps up with “The PARTY” – dance the night away at the Night of Pride from 9:00 pm – 2:00 am. On Sunday, the Morning of Pride Brunch, 10:00 am – 2:00 pm, features music, networking, giveaways, and delectable food and southern favorites prepared by the esteemed Executive Chef Marty and the culinary team at Christopher’s Catering Company LLC.
The proceeds from these events will be used to fund educational scholarships for underprivileged residents that wish to continue their education.
