DURHAM, NC – Vidal Brujan, former Durham Bull and current Tampa Bay Rays player, has the potential to be a star and it shows.

Born February 9, 1998, in San Pedro de Macoris (Dominican Republic), Brujan signed with the Rays as an international Free agent in 2014. He went on to make his professional debut in 2015 with the Dominican Summer League Rays.

For context, he was just 17 years old. So, before he was even a legal adult, Brujan batted a .301, with two home runs, 20 RBI’s, and 22 stolen bases in 60 games.

To reiterate, he was only 17 years of age performing at this level.

Brujan’s potential didn’t slow down there. Since his debut, Brujan has played six years of professional baseball has not yet had a lackluster season.

The accolades he has accumulated so far are nothing short of impressive. In 2018, while playing for the Bowling Green Hot Rods, he was named a Midwest All-Star.

By the end of 2019, his name was on the Rays 40-man roster, but the cancellation of the minor league season prevented him from playing a game.

In his minor league career, he has played 448 games with a batting average of .290.

So far, his worse span of batting is his five-game sabbatical with the Rays. Outside of that, he has never batted under a .259.

On the other side of the field, Brujan has been everywhere but the mound. At the triple-A level, he has played 109 innings at second base, 18 at third, 57 at shortstop, 92 at leftfield, 53 at centerfield.

At the double-A level, the second base position was where he played the most. With over 250 innings played at the position.

Vidal Brujan’s versatility, experience, and pure talent for the game will make him an asset to any team. His potential was what got him here, but his productivity is the most potent part of his game.
