Wolfpack Will Stick to the Same Mentality as Last Week Heading into Mississippi State

RALEIGH NC – The Wolfpack can finally move on from last week and shift all their focus onto their week 2 SEC opponents, the Mississippi State Bulldogs. They will get to experience crowd noise from a visitor’s perspective for the first time in over a year.

They certainly will have their hands full in a hostile Mississippi State environment that will be shaking their cowbells throughout the stadium, creating a lot of noise. SEC or not, it is just another week for the Pack, and they will look to make a statement and remain undefeated in 2021.

Despite shutting out USF, the Pack will turn the page, keep that same mentality, and translate it into this week. LB Isiah Moore is only concerned about the Bulldogs and tells reporters that the team is just trying to go 1-0.

“We were definitely happy to get the shutout last week, but you know our goal coming into the game was to do enough to win the game, and we did that. Now we put that to bed and focus on our next opponent. We got to get ready for Mississippi State now. That is the mindset just go 1-0”.

The same thing goes for the Pack offensive line, who delivered a memorable performance as it earned OL Ikem Ekwonu ACC offensive lineman of the week honors. Redshirt freshman OG Dylan McMahon spoke to reporters and had a similar mindset as Moore heading into week 2.

“Well, one, you just gotta watch the film and put that game to bed. We just got to remember how we practiced last week leading up to South Florida and imitate it the exact same way. Just really fix the little details that we really got to fix and continue to carry that to the next game” said McMahon.

The 2021 Wolfpack has shown that they are an experienced and confident group thus far. As long as they can stay focused on what is in front of them and ignore the outside noise, it should not only bode well for them this week but for the entirety of the campaign.
