Duke Prepares to Take on the Aggies Friday Night

DURHAM – Duke prepares to host the North Carolina A&T Aggies for their home opener on Friday night at Brooks Field at Wallace Wade Stadium. Kickoff is set for 8 p.m., broadcasting live on ACC Network (ACCN).

Duke is a solid 24-8 (.750) when defending their home field from non-conference opponents and hasn’t lost a non-conference game at home since 2015 against a No. 23 Northwestern.

With a decisive 45-13 victory last season against the Aggies, The Blue Devils lead the all-time series 1-0. Duke saw a tremendous contribution from quarterback Quentin Harris, who finished with an efficient 345 yards and four touchdowns. Harris also used his legs for 83 more yards and another touchdown that same game.

Duke also hopes to see significant offensive production from their star running back, Mataeo Durant, after a breakout performance in the season opener against Charlotte. Durant racked up 255 yards on 29 carries to break the school record for most rushing yards in a single game, securing
a spot in Duke’s top 20 all-time rushing chart.

Defensively, the Blue Devils will look to senior safety Dylan Singleton, who compiled nine tackles in their last outing against NC A&T. Lummie Young IV, could also be a factor on the defensive side tallying up double-digit tackles (10) in the season opener against the Charlotte 49ers.
