Shaw U Homecoming

Shaw U. Homecoming Game vs. Johnson C. Smith Prediction

RALEIGH, NC – The Shaw Bears (4-3 overall and 3-1 conference) are among the elite teams in the CIAA South this year.

They will not disappoint their Homecoming crowd at John Baker Stadium, on the campus of Southeast Raleigh Magnet High School (my alma mater, btw), by exploding on Johnson C. Smith University, by the score of 45-0.

The Bears have a stout offense, led by Sophomore Running back from Black Mountain, NC named Sidney Gibbs. Gibbs so far has 598 rushing yards, with five touchdowns (four rushings and one receiving).

They also have a tremendous defense. Freshman Linebacker, Kareem Butler from Raeford, NC, led the Bears with 10.5 tackles in last week’s road victory over Livingstone. This season, he’s third on the team with 31 total tackles. Also, leading the way on defense is Senior Linebacker Devon Hunt from Hamlet, NC (29 tackles and one interception) and the Junior Defensive Back from Danville, Virginia named Da’Shawn Wallace (18 tackles and one interception).

Bear fans, students, and alumni don’t forget to rock out during Homecoming, because the Bears will refuse to disappoint!
