Our Stop Shop To Host 3-Day ‘Buy Black Market’ During Black Friday Weekend

Our Stop ShopRALEIGH, NC – Our Stop Shop will hold its “Buy Black Market” in the Kerr Scott Building on the NC State Fairgrounds this Black Friday Weekend. It takes place Friday, November 26 to Sunday, November 28, 2021, from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. each day.

Our Stop Shop is a family-owned Black economic empowerment education company. The indoor market event will feature over 400 Black-owned businesses of all kinds. The event’s purpose is to empower the Black business communities who are marginalized from business development opportunities. Opportunities like these are normally reserved for large corporations with huge marketing budgets and many more resources to scale and see businesses grow more easily.

The “Buy Black Market” is a chance for small businesses to have a platform that leads them to growth for Black people by Black people. They intend to expose businesses to the necessary steps to sustainably grow as a company. So, when a company walks away from this event, they should feel prepared for their next opportunities.

Rah-Mah

I had the pleasure of interviewing Rah-Mah, the CEO of Our Stop Shop, and she hopes for customers to understand that “though their money may be leaving their house temporarily, it is not leaving the community…at all.” Supporting Black-owned businesses help stimulate the Black community.

One way this event differs from a typical pop-up shop is Our Stop Shop’s desire to revitalize Black Wall Street. Black Wall Street flourished because of the accessibility of Black businesses in the  Black community. Occupying a space solely dominated by Black people opens a market that is rarely seen. At the “Buy Black Market,” there will be Black-owned companies that not only sell items, but provide services like diagnostic testing, medical providers, mechanics, heating and cooling companies, delivery services, commerce platforms, social media platforms, and many more that will prove that there are places for these businesses to exist.

It is expected that Friday will be the busiest day of the events weekend because is Black Friday. Just as shoppers stand in lines and wait for the season’s steals, they foresee the same happening at the “Buy Black-Market.” It is also expected for Saturday to be busy as well because it will be Small Business Saturday.

The mission of Our Stop Shop is to empower Black businesses to grow more than ever. They focus on providing a platform to normalize Black business brand awareness. They support the growth of all business types including artists, organizations, and service providers. This Black Friday event is one of the many events Our Stop Shop hosts. In April, they will hold an Easter weekend event and in August, one for Back-To-School. Both events will be similar pop-up markets.
