Review
Phat Tuesdays: The Era Hip Hop Comedy docuseries takes you through an unbelievable story of how Guy Torry created the all-Black comedy night at The Comedy Store. The film took me back down memory lane and even taught me a little history. After watching the first episode it gave me a true understanding of black humor and how black comedy came about. I was able to relive the jokes of comedians who are considered legends and I finally learned where the term “Bebe’s Kids” came from. The film features interviews and throwback videos with comedians who paved the way. It’s a must-see film that’ll keep you laughing and intrigued. Let’s not forget to mention the soundtrack for this series is a jam! 90’s hip-hop music always gets me hype. I will most definitely be tuning in to finish this series. The rating I give this docuseries is 5 stars.
