NC State 2022 Pro Day Recap & Results
RALEIGH, NC — North Carolina State University hosted its pro day this afternoon at the Close-King Indoor Practice Facility. A host of scouts, media and fans were in attendance.
40-yard dash times, position drills, three-cone drills, and more were among the workouts today. Each player had the opportunity to prove why they should be playing on Sundays. N.C. State’s standout left tackle, Ikem Ekwonu, a projected top-10 pick, did not attend.
Emeka Emezie, the Wolfpack’s all-time leading receiver, Joshua Williams, Fayetteville State’s stud cornerback, and more were invited to the pro day. The two-star players had great performances this afternoon.
Emeka Emezie had an all-around performance today. His route running and catching stood out the most, but that’s no surprise. Emezie is a big-bodied, technical receiver who is rarely outplayed by his competition. His performance today shows that his off-season training has paid off.
“I’ve been training at California Sports Academy,” said Emezie. “I’ve had a good routine going on here in Raleigh, too.”
Joshua Williams ran an amazing 40-yard dash. Williams clocked a 4.28, the fastest at the pro day. His unique size and speed are two reasons why he will be sought after in the 2022 NFL Draft. Williams looks to be the first Fayetteville State Bronco taken in the NFL Draft since 1976.
The 2020 NFL Draft will begin on April 30th, 2022, at 8:00 pm. The annual event will be in Las Vegas, NV.
