The NC State Wolfpack Sweep the High Point Panthers

HIGH POINT, NC – The NC State Wolfpack (24-11, ACC 11-7) dismantles the High Point Panthers (12-26, ACC 7-9) in a nine-run streak ending the game 13-5.

 With a walk from Sam Zayicek and a single to left field from Jackson Melton in the fourth inning, gave way for High Point to score. The Panthers earned four runs with four hits to take the one-run lead 5-4 over the Pack.

  However, this was no match for The Pack’s strong offense leading into the sixth inning.

 Senior, Devonte Brown was a top performer tonight for NC State with six at-bat appearances, four hits, three runs, and one RBI. Brown’s homer to left field resulting in an RBI in the sixth inning started the nine-run streak for the Pack. Freshman, Tommy White was also a key player on offense with three hits, two runs, and two RBIs to aid in the victory of tonight’s game.

   NC State’s right-hander, Logan Adams made his appearance in the seventh inning as pitcher to close the game. He finished with three strikeouts, one KL, and allowed only one hit for the Panthers to keep them scoreless for the remainder of the game.

 Right fielder LuJames Groover III was a key leader on offense and defense tonight for the Pack. He finished with four putouts and two assists as first baseman while also making four at-bat appearances with four runs and two hits to add to the 13-run game.

 The NC State Wolfpack make their way to Jim Patterson Stadium for a three-game series with the Louisville Cardinals starting on Friday, April 22rd at 8 pm.
