CIAA, WSSU Announce 2022 Football TV Schedule

CHARLOTTE, NC – The Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) announces its broadcast schedule for the 2022 football season, with games set to be shown on three additional platforms – AspireTV, PRC Communications, and HBCU GO, as well as the conference’s very own CIAA Sports Network.  

The Rams have eight games that will be televised this season either via AspireTV, PRC Communications or HBCU Go. As well as the annual Black College Football Hall of Fame Classic that will be broadcasted on NFL Network. 

Five CIAA games will be televised live on AspireTV, including the 2022 CIAA Football Championship, which will be held in Salem, VA on November 12 this year. PRC Communications will be televising 10 CIAA games live through Regional Networks while a total of 30 conference games will be showcased on HBCU GO’s platform.  

AspireTV’s four-game regular season slate, which features seven of the league’s 12 teams, begins Saturday, October 15 when Lincoln (PA) visits Elizabeth City State for the Vikings’ homecoming. The next week, Johnson C. Smith hosts Fayetteville State for its homecoming on television. AspireTV will also showcase the October 29 tilt between visiting Johnson C. Smith and host Winston-Salem State and the November 5 battle between Saint Augustine’s and Shaw with the Bears hosting.  

PRC Communications will televise at least one game a week beginning with the start of the conference slate on September 17. There will be 10 games over the course of eight weeks and nine of the 12 league teams will be featured.  

Multiple contests a week will also be shown on HBCU GO, beginning September 17. All 12 league teams and the homecoming contests of Bowie State, Lincoln (PA), Saint Augustine’s, and Shaw will be featured on the platform.  

2022 marks the seventh year of a partnership between the CIAA & AspireTV to provide live broadcast coverage across multiple platforms. This is the second year of a partnership that grants HBCU GO cable, linear, streaming, broadcast, VOD, and pay-per-view rights to CIAA contests. This is also the first year in a collaboration between the conference and PRC Communications.  

Every conference game will also still be available on the CIAA Sports Network. Local listings of each game’s broadcast will be available at a later time.

September 4-Black College Hall of Fame of Game vs. Central State-NFL Network 

September 17- at Elizabeth City State University 12 p.m. – PRC Communications 

October 1-vs. Lincoln University (PA) 1:30 p.m. – PRC Communications 

October 8- at Livingstone College – HBCU GO 

October 15 – vs. Shaw University – HBCU GO 

October 22 – at Saint Augustine’s University – HBCU GO 

October 29- vs. Johnson C. Smith University 1 p.m. – AspireTV 

November 5- vs. Fayetteville State University 4 p.m. – PRC Communications 

Notes:  

Games produced by PRC Communications will be televised through Regional Networks. These will also run through the CIAA Digital Network. 

HBCU GO will ingest the current feed through Blueframe and the CIAA Digital Network to be able to use it on their network. The Home team will produce the games.
