Last Weekend For The Raleigh Market As N.C. State Fair Approaches

RALEIGH – The NC State Fair is quickly approaching. This weekend marks the last before The Raleigh Market temporarily leaves the fairgrounds to make room for the N.C. State Fair. The Raleigh Market will close on Sunday, Sept. 25, at 5 pm and remain closed through the month of October. It re-opens Saturday, Nov. 5.

The Raleigh Market will be closed for the month of October for the NC State Fair.

The Raleigh Market, a fun, family-friendly atmosphere, draws thousands of shoppers every weekend. The market showcases more than 500 vendors, offering everything from antiques and collectibles to crafts, furniture, homemade goodies, clothing, jewelry, and…well, the list goes on and on! Since the 1970s the flea market in Raleigh, NC has been the first-choice destination for the shopper looking for the unique and collectible, not just the bargain.

“It’s a great weekend to come out and snag some last-minute bargains,” said Kent Yelverton, fair manager. “The State Fair will also be selling discounted tickets at a kiosk located near Dorton Arena. You’ll be able to purchase admission tickets, ride sheets, and wristbands.”

To prepare for October’s longest-running tradition, access to the fairgrounds will be restricted to people who have credentials or special access passes issued by the N.C. State Fair starting on Monday, Sept. 26. State Fair employees, vendors, exhibitors, and members of the news media are among those who will be allowed on the grounds if they have the proper credentials.

The 2022 N.C. State Fair runs Oct. 13-23 at the North Carolina State Fairgrounds in Raleigh. The fair offers an experience unique to North Carolina for all who attend and is a great value with free entertainment, thrilling rides and games, thousands of animals, endless family activities, competitions, vendors, and creative deep-fried delights.
