LeBron James Breaks NBA Scoring Record
LeBron James has surpassed an NBA record held by fellow Los Angeles Laker Kareem Abdul-Jabbar since 1984.
During Tuesday night’s game, the superstar athlete broke the record for the most scored points by any NBA player in history, achieving an impressive 38,390 points in front of an enthusiastic crowd.
Lebron James broke the career record in the third quarter when he scored his 36th point on a fadeaway jumper while up against the Oklahoma City Thunder, per NPR.
Many celebrities were there, including JAY-Z, Denzel Washington, Bad Bunny and Usher. NBA greats like James Worthy, A.C. Green and Abdul-Jabbar were also in the stands.
His mother, Gloria, wife, Savannah, daughter, Zhuri, and sons, Bronny and Bryce, also cheered in the crowd.

Before James was born, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar held the top spot on the NBA’s all-time points rankings. In April 1984, Abdul-Jabbar passed Wilt Chamberlain’s 31,419 points; Abdul-Jabbar then amassed a whopping 38,387 points by his retirement in 1989.
After scoring record-breaking points, the NBA stopped the game to celebrate James’ incredible achievement. During the on-court ceremony, Abdul-Jabbar embraced James and handed him a basketball, seemingly passing the torch. James then turned to the crowd to address his history-making accomplishment.
