Raleigh Police Arrest Suspect in Multiple Bank Robberies
RALEIGH – On March 30, 2023, Raleigh Police officers responded to a bank robbery at the M&F Bank located at 13 E. Hargett Street. The suspect entered the bank and handed a teller a note demanding money. The teller complied, and the suspect fled.
On April 3, officers responded to a bank robbery at the same location. The robber entered the bank and handed a teller a note demanding money. The teller complied, and the suspect fled.
On April 4, officers responded to the First Citizen’s Bank located at 239 Fayetteville St. The suspect entered the bank and handed a teller a note demanding money. The teller complied, and the individual fled the building.
In all three robberies, the suspect did not display or use a weapon.
Through investigative means, the suspect was identified as Anthony Tony Thomas, 41. On Tuesday (April 11), Thomas was taken into custody and charged with three counts of Common Law Robbery.
