Hollywood Comes To North Carolina For New Movie Featuring Huge Stars
North Carolina seems to attract Hollywood quite often. Of course, the state has many picturesque settings that appeal to directors and cinematographers. After all, we have beaches, mountains, and the stunning Biltmore Estate. And, all of these spots have seen Tinseltown come calling. But, according to WLOS Hollywood comes to the Western North Carolina town of Hendersonville for a movie featuring some heavy hitter stars.
And, per social media reports, Diane Keaton was spotted in Asheville. The film, “Summer Camp,” uses Hendersonville’s Camp Pinnacle as a backdrop. And, in addition to Keaton, the film also stars Kathy Bates and Alfre Woodard. That’s quite the lineup. Plus, a number of locals expect to be extras in the film. We had the opportunity to meet Alfre Woodard several years ago at a press junket. She was delightful.
Apparently, the plot revolves around childhood friends, played by the three star actresses, reuniting at the summer sleep-away camp. Deadline reports the film is a comedy that filmmakers pitched to Keaton, who loved the idea. Imagine the best friends getting back together for camp during what most would consider the chill season of retirement. This has potential! And, the Western North Carolina town of Hendersonville is perfect for the film. Filming is expected to continue through mid-May in various North Carolina mountain locations.
Furthermore, other stars of “Summer Camp” include Eugene Levy and Beverly D’Angelo. This lineup just keeps getting more impressive. So, keep your eyes open if you happen to be in the area of Hendersonville, North Carolina. You just might run into some celebrities strolling along the street as Hollywood comes to Western North Carolina.
