Tar Heels To Host Tennessee in First ACC-SEC Challenge
CHAPEL HILL – The University of North Carolina men’s basketball team will play host to the University of Tennessee on November 29, 2023, at the Dean E. Smith Center in the first season of the ACC-SEC Challenge.
Gametime is 7:15 p.m. ESPN will announce broadcast information later.
The Tar Heels are 10-2 all-time against the Volunteers, including a 73-71 win on Dec. 11, 2016, in the only previous matchup in the Smith Center. This will be the Vols’ fourth game in Chapel Hill, having also played in 1911 in Bynum Gym and 1948 in Woollen Gym. Carolina has won all three of its previous home games against Tennessee.
Tennessee defeated UNC, 89-72, the last time the teams played. That came on Nov. 21, 2021, in Uncasville, Conn., in the Hall of Fame Tipoff. Brady Manek led the Tar Heels with 24 points, Armando Bacot had 16 points and 12 rebounds and RJ Davis added 14 points and four assists.
