Crayons2Calculators Kicks Off School Supply Drive To Support Durham Teachers
DURHAM, NC – Fill that Bus! is a community-wide school supply drive that aims to stock the shelves at Crayons2Calculators so Durham Public Schools teachers can get the supplies they need to fuel student success, completely free of charge.
2023 Fill that Bus! school supply drive starts today, July 10. Crayons2Calculators has big goals this year and needs the community’s help to achieve them. By August 11, they hope to stock the shelves at their Bacon Street warehouse AND raise $30,000 so that Durham Public Schools teachers and students have everything they need for a strong start to the school year.
Last year Crayons2Calculators distributed more than $180,000 of school supplies with nearly 90% of local teachers utilizing the service, and the demand for supplies is only growing. Crayons2Calculators serve every school in the Durham Public Schools District providing classroom essentials ranging from pencils to notebooks, art supplies, paper, and more.
Supply Drop Off Locations for Community Members:
- Durty Bull Brewery, Broadway Street, Durham
- Hi-Wire Brewing Durham, Taylor Street, Durham
- Fullsteam Brewery, Rigsbee Ave, Durham
- Glass Beer Jug, Foster Street, Durham
- Ponysaurus Brewing, Hood St, Durham
- South Durham Farmers Market
- American Tobacco Campus, Crow Lobby, Durham from July 24 – August 4
Companies hosting a supply drive, or any large donations, are asked to deliver directly to the Crayons2Calculators warehouse at 808 Bacon St, Durham from 11:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. Monday through Thursday.
There are so many ways to activate your networks to support local teachers:
- Host an in-person supply drive using these ready-made resources
- Create your own giving page by clicking “I want to fundraise for this” at the top of this page
- Share their Amazon and Walmart wish lists
If you want to set up a giving page for your workplace, church, or neighborhood, simply input the organization name as the first and last name when prompted. For example, list “Duke” as the first name and “University” as the last name.
