Durham Bulls Dominate Gwinnett At Home
DURHAM, NC – Bulls first baseman Austin Shenton mashed two hits, including a two-run homer, center fielder Raimel Tapia crushed a home run, and right-hander Taj Bradley threw five scoreless innings in Durham’s 6-1 win over the Gwinnett Stripers on Wednesday night at Durham Bulls Athletic Park.
The Bulls struck first with Shenton’s 2-run homer in the first frame, before RF Diego Infante drove in a run and LF Niko Hulsizer scored on a sacrifice fly. After the Stripers recorded a single tally in the sixth, Tapia’s homer extended the Bulls’ lead to 5-1 before 3B Tristan Gray scored on a sacrifice fly to secure the 6-1 win.
Durham starter Taj Bradley (5.0 IP, 4 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 6 SO) earned the victory, with tonight’s performance marking 10.2 scoreless innings for the righty. Meanwhile, Gwinnett starter Jared Shuster (5.1 IP, 7 H, 5 R, 5 ER, 5 SO) suffered the loss.
The two teams are set to continue their six-game series on Thursday evening, with first pitch scheduled for 6:35pm.
