Update: Raleigh Police Investigate Shooting Of Juvenile On North New Hope Road

On Monday, October 2, 2023, at approximately 6:35 P.M., the Raleigh Police Department responded to a reported shooting in the 5100 block of North New Hope Road. Responding officers located a 17-year-old male juvenile victim suffering from a gunshot wound. The male was transported to the hospital with serious injuries, where he succumbed to his injuries.

Officers and detectives are on the scene collecting evidence and determining the circumstances surrounding this incident.

There are no suspects in custody.

This is an ongoing investigation.

Update (Oct. 3 at 11:46 AM):

This incident in the 5100 block of North New Hope Road is being investigated as a homicide. Due to the age of the victim, his identity will not be released.
