The Wolfpack’s Homecoming Win Over Clemson

Raleigh, N.C- In a thrilling and closely contested football game, the NC State Wolfpack emerged victorious in their homecoming battle against the Clemson Tigers at the Carter-Finley Stadium, securing a hard-fought win with a final score of 24-17. This victory held a special significance for the Wolfpack, as it marked their second consecutive win over Clemson, following their 27-21 triumph in 2021.

The game kicked off with high energy, as the Wolfpack struck first, courtesy of a remarkable play by freshman wide receiver Kevin Concepcion. He showcased his agility and speed with a dazzling 50-yard gain, setting the stage for an impressive touchdown. This touchdown was a product of quarterback MJ Morris connecting with Concepcion for a nine-yard reception, following a crucial interception by Devan Boykin of a Cade Klubnik pass. At the end of the first quarter, NC State led 7-0.

Clemson responded in the second quarter, with running back Will Shipley making a significant contribution. However, Shipley was unfortunately injured during a play near the red zone. However, NC State’s Kevin Concepcion delivered another remarkable play, scoring a 72-yard touchdown, which placed them firmly in control at 24-10.

Clemson showed resilience in the final quarter, outscoring NC State 10-0, in a bid to mount a comeback. While they managed to reduce the gap, it ultimately proved insufficient to secure the victory. Clemson’s defense held NC State to just 202 yards, displaying their determination and prowess on the field.
